Campaign For Free Charity Cars @ The Point!

HERE IS A SCREEN SHOT OF THE CAMPAIGN

HOW THIS WORKS

Those who join the campaign pledge to donate funds toward the cause—but no one actually acts until the campaign reaches its preset tipping point, or number of pledged participants. When that point is reached, however, the action is triggered and participants make their donations, or take action.

MY CAMPAIGN

The Goal is to to raise $50,000 for Free Charity Cars.
It may sound like a lot but I say go big or stay home!
And this can be done, if we get the word out, promote it, invite your friends & family to join and make a pledge.

I am also working on some other sources to help with this campaign as well and really hope they come through it would be most exciting if they did!

You can either create an account with The Point to Join or connect with your Facebook.

Once I get 5 people to join and pledge then the Campaign will be emailed by The Point to every member in the People In NeedCharitable Projects and Challenges Channels on the whole site! Which could very well result in many more pledges to meet the goal!

As of now including myself we have 4 members joined and  pledged already!

SO WHAT YOU WAITING FOR?
Join, Pledge even if it is just a dollar (you will not be charged today, no one pays their pledge until we hit $50,000 then when we do The Point collects all the donations cuts the check and sends it to Brian.

and spread the word invite everyone you know to come make a pledge!

Getting Brian on Oprah, can it be done?

Well we all know that Brian is asking us all to go hard and get him on the last season of Oprah which begins September 13th 2010.

I know that many of you are working hard at this. I know Babydoll0719 has started a petition to Oprah of which I have signed (I was number 16) and encourage everyone to do so as well.

And I also know many of you including myself have been sending an email over and over to this link day after day to Oprah.

But are we getting anywhere with it? I know there must have been thousands upon thousands of emails sent and my concern was.... is that enough? Are we doing it the best way possible? How can we make this happen and get results?

So I decided to do some research and see exactly what needs to be done to be a guest on Oprah.

My findings were...

Unlike other media outlets that are daily, Oprah is limited in her slots for guests as she only tapes a couple hundred shows a season. Then when you cut that number down for all the celebrities, political, criminal, current event episodes what does that leave us with? A mere handful of opportunities to get on the show.

THINGS WE NEED TO DO

Register and become a part of the Oprah Community I already have joined myself, Just click here to register

PLEASE NOTE when you sign up you are given the option to get a free issue of O magazine and once you get it you can then just write cancel on the invoice and return it if you do not want to continue a subscription, again this is an option if you do not want to do it simply make sure you do not have a check in the box as show below

Hit that Message Board! We need to make them see the Oprah Community is interested in Brian Menzies, Free Charity Cars, etc... you can not solicit directly for a Charity but you can make suggestions, review others etc.. Just read the house rules before you begin.

Let's face it we are not the only Charity trying to get on Oprah. So we have to find a way to tie in to what is relevant to the Oprah show right now. Oprah's main focus is on the children of Africa, what effects her audience directly (which is mostly females) so we have to take a different approach or angle if you want to get through to them. Best way to do that from what I have researched is to tie into the theme of the show. This years theme is making your wildest dreams come true. So VOILA there is our angle right there. Brian is a person who makes dreams come true and that makes him fit right into the theme of the show!

However, you have to catch their attention in the first 3 sentences! So in any email you send, letter, etc whatever, do not wag your tongue as it is said and drag out a huge long story, just hit them hard straight to the point and quick! If you drag it out they will not be interested and will not even read further. You have to be quick witted, creative, and really make them think Okay we got a story here! Try not to mention your own personal story unless you yourself want to be on Oprah. If your trying to get Brian on Oprah focus on just that, stick to the making dreams come true angle, be compelling, make it pop and grab them and keep it brief!

Which brings me to if you would be on Oprah and you are truly a Fan of Oprah then why not try to get yourself on there and then you can pitch FCC yourself or get your foot in the door and as Oprah's Ultimate Viewer be able to suggest FCC to them ;-) Just click here if you are Oprah's Ultimate Viewer

Other ways through Oprah to get the word out abut Brian and FCC would be through O Magazine or Oprah Radio just click either and give that a try to.

Also please those who email several times a day or over and over every day, YOU SHOULD NOT DO THAT. From what I have read about this, people who send repeat submissions about the same exact thing are considered either a spammer, or a nuisance especially when you do it back to back or several times a day. We do not want to be viewed that way, we want and need to win them over and get Brian on the show. But let's do it responsibly and not annoyingly do not bombard them with repeats that will be ignored.

That being said understand it is not the QUANTITY of emails the producers get from us but the QUALITY of the emails. WE MUST GET THEIR ATTENTION, but we need to do it  with true impact and not repetitive. If you want to email over and over make sure you mix it up, do not send the same thing each time and be sure to grab their attention!

No matter what give it your best shot and do the best you can. If I can help in anyway just let me know.

Blessings to all

Seized Cars Donations Possible Reality or Foolish Notion?

What do you think about getting seized cars donated to Free Charity Cars?

Do you think it is a possible reality? Or just a foolish notion?

I ask because I see many who are in great support of the idea, some who do not get involved, some who believe it is a futile attempt and not worth the effort of promoting and some I believe who are on the fence and unsure one way or the other.

Well I would like to say I personally think it is a great idea. Why?

First of all many individuals are just not in the position to help as most have been hit hard by the economic distress our country is in. Secondly, I think people who are in a position to help either do not know about Free Charity Cars or simply overlook us, and lastly what could it hurt to just try? We have to think outside the box and find any way possible to not only get cars donated but to spread awareness about the need.

It will go one of 2 ways, either it will happen or it won't. Now that being said that means we have a 50/50 chance so it is worth it. Not to mention the fact that even if it does not happen in the fashion we would like WE WILL HAVE succeeded at the very least in spreading awareness about the need of so many Americans for reliable transportation.

And hey, who knows what doors (and let's all hope those will be car doors ;-) could be opened in this movement or what changes could be made because of our efforts!

So I seriously ask you all to at least take the time and sign the petitions that are going, email your State Governors & Officials and ask everyone you can in your respective States to consider donating the seized cars sitting in police impound lots to Free Charity Cars.

Other FCC Promotion Ideas

Post ads everywhere you can! On High Traffic Community Pages
I have one on the Radio Station 104.7 the fish that repeats every single day through 2012!
Click to View my ad on 104.7 The Fish

Also post ads on Craigs List!
I currently have 2 but will be adding a 3rd soon I like to update and keep it fresh :-)
Click here to my last one

Another thing I am doing is getting creative, just make flyers yourself and hand them out where ever you go, post them on community bulletin boards asks businesses to let you tape one to their window, asks to put some in lobbies or waiting rooms!

Another thing to do if you can is get a promotional item and pass it out to people. I for instance have ordered 100 personalized pencils that I give out to people.

If you want to do the same I suggest getting them here (<===just click here :-)they are reasonably priced and the people who are selling them are on retirement and trying to supplement their income so you would be doing 2 good deeds in one!

And please be sure to link those social networks!
Promote on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc and so on!!!

Bottom line here is we need cars and we have to promote to get those cars donated. We must help ourselves and one another not to mention this website that is so graciously giving us the opportunity to even hope to get a car! So let's get to it and let's make it happen! If you need any help or advice feel free to contact me and I will do my best to assist!

Some handy links/emails to help you promote Free Charity Cars

Let's get Brian on any show or in any publication we can! Email them all and anymore you can think of! Links are below that will take you straight to nominate or suggest! Just comment and add anymore you know of!

My suggestions for the new FreeCharityCars Website

So as we all know Brian announced a short time ago a new Website in the works for FCC and said to send suggestions to them at info@freecharitycars.org.

Well I sent my list of suggestions and wanted to share them all with you and please let me know if you sent your suggestions I would love to hear them.

My suggestions:

1. I think there should be direct hyperlinks that members can just click and be taken right where they need to go to contact people to promote FCC.

2. A generic type letter that people can copy/paste and use as template to make their own of it to send on behalf of FCC. As it seems many have told me they just do not do it because they do not know how to word things or what to say.

3. A script of sorts for members to use when they call dealerships or other people would be an excellent idea to. I think a lot more people would be apt to call if they knew what to say as again some have told me they are not good on the phone either.

4. A Free Charity Cars blog I think would be an amazing way to get out pertinent information to members and allow members to give feedback in an organized fashion which will result in less emails to your Staff as well.

5. A discussion board for members could be very beneficial in giving everyone a place within FCC to post ideas, advice, support and help one another as well as alleviate many emails directly sent to the Staff of FCC for issues that members could address themselves in their own forum.

6. If possible adding a cast vote button to our friends within our friend list so that we could vote for friends without having to open each page to do so would cut down on time it takes to vote and allow more time for promoting! :-)

7. Add a block user button on everyone's profile so that when issues arise and members get their feathers ruffled those members can just click block user themselves on the other's profile page and then that person can not contact them. I think this will stop a lot of the bickering and ugliness and people won't have to deal with it or bother you about it.

8. I think you should institute and inactive member policy so that when a member has not signed in to FCC in a certain amount of time like for 30 days their account is temporarily disabled until they sign in again and give them the option to reactivate once agreeing to the active member TOS, if they have not signed in for a significant amount of time like 6 months their account should be removed. This would allow us to have a clearer idea of exactly how many members are truly ACTIVE members in need on FCC and allow members who are active to have their rightful places in line on the waiting list.

9. I am sure you do not want to allow members to customize their profiles and use html coding or CSS etc, because it may slow down the server. However if you could allow at least sections on our pages where we can have one for our story, one for what we are up to or doing so we can post our personal promotions etc. I think it would make the pages more streamlined and easier to read than the way we have to separate everything with dashes or symbols which makes for some messy and hard to read profiles at times.

10. With the "Blue List" I think this should be overhauled in some way. Perhaps instead of the blue list appearig upon sign in, maybe add an area to our page which says something like Votes Received that we can click on each day and see where are votes came from. That way we know exactly what we are getting votes for. It should contain daily votes, profile view votes, transferred votes, pay it forward votes, Mgive votes, Paypal votes, Video votes etc... I think that would be a great addition and allow us to keep an accurate track of our votes and thank those who have helped us on our way.

11. With deleting friends I think that should be made a little easier. As now when you remove a friend it takes you back to the first page and you have to go find your place and start over. Sometimes it is necessary to clean up a friend list when people are not active and have not signed in for a few weeks or months for that matter and being able to click that x and remove them and stay on the same page and just continue would make it quicker and easier to do.

12. Offer Incentive votes! You could add a section under Earn Votes on our Profiles that says Incentive Votes. I am not sure how it could be done but perhaps you could once a month or so have some sort of contest that awards votes to the winner for whatever you need to get done or want members to do so the one who goes above and beyond or accomplishes the task etc wins the votes. Or you could offer an incentive of votes for supporting the sponsors. Like every so many sponsor ads clicked a day gets so many votes or something like that. It is voting based here and votes are what we all need and want and really what better way to get members motivated and get things accomplished for FCC than by a vote incentive?

So What Is Free Charity Cars?

I decided the best way to start my blog here is with the basic introduction to Free Charity Cars

video
