Helping Members Week 2/20 -2/27 is GrayBeard Week!

GRAYBEARD'S STORY
I'm a 57 year old male that has had much misfortune in my life.In 1976 I was involved in an auto accident caused by a drunk,(head on 145 mph impact), as I was thrown from the vehicle my jugular vein was clipped and I bled to death,(took 43 pints of blood through January). As I was flung out of the drivers' door both cars came together and crushed both my legs and with both legs folded underneath me,my right knee cap was ground off as I slid 364 feet on a concrete highway.I have a steel rod screwed into my left hip down through the femur and into my left knee,my right leg was so shattered that they couldn't do anything with it but let it heal on its' own,They had to rebreak right leg because it had started growing inward so my right leg has a crooked place in my right femur which has caused one leg to be 2" shorter than the other. That day of the wreck they were originally going to amputate both legs, but,by the grace of GOD the doctor on call decided to try and save them.(You just can't imagine the frustration of having to learn how to walk all over again at the age of 22). In February 2008 I had two double kidney failures caused by me coming in contact with Agent Orange while on my tour of duty in 'Nam. It was so serious that the Doctors said to call in the immediate family, I had been given two emergency dialysis and on the third one they said if it didn't take all they could do was stand there and watch me die.Since then I've had to endure dialysis through my groin and being fed by IV in my arm as I'm severely anemic and have diabetes, at this time they say that my kidneys are only putting out 25% out of both together. I also have emphysema in my left lung and have to be on oxygen 24/7.I have been fighting for my VA benefits with no luck,(they say that they can't find my records and/or I waited too long to file). It has gotten to the point where I can't walk without falling down,(my legs are losing their strength and coordination).I was approved for a power chair back in December of 2009 and received it, but I have no way to transport it to my Doctor visits or anywhere else I need to go.I need to use my chair as I can't walk very far at all without either falling down or sit down because I can't breath. My wife has just survived breast cancer and I need a mini van or something similar so I can be able to take my chair to all our Doctors visits and therapies. We try to survive on our measly Social Security check,so we don't have very much if any left over after paying bills to buy or make payments on one. There is more times than not that we've had to make a choice to either buy food to eat or buy the medications that we need. So,please,if you can find it in your hearts please vote for me so I can be able to do the things I need to do for the BOTH of us. GOD Bless and may he shine on your life and give you unmeasurable love and blessings. P.S. I am in dire need of a mini van or small SUV please, please find it in your hearts to help me as I need one desperately so I can take my wife to her cancer treatments and me to mine. We've been having to cancel too many of our appointments because of our transportation issues.

Just remember a little help can a long way!
When we come together to promote for anyone we are making a difference in more than just one persons life. Spreading awareness about Free Charity Cars benefits everyone!

Your story was truly moving, I also was blessed and decided to donate car to a vehicle donation charity. It was one of the most amazing days I've ever experienced.
