PAULANDBARBS STORY
ok friends...i need to be honest and come clean with you all...i suffer from Fibromyalgia(FMS), diabetes, high cholesterol, high thyroid. In 1997 i retired because of the FMS. Since then i had to have total hip replacement 2003. In late 2008 they found i had total blockage of my abdominal aorta below the kidney artery.It took until July 2009 to get me into Barnes Hospital in St.Louis, Mo. The surgeon then referred me to a cardiologist, who found another problem. He referred me to a pulmonologist.He did a cardiac cath in February 2010.They made appointment for me to return in March 2010. That's when my world turned upside-down.He told me i have Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension. Only 1 in 5 million people are diagnosed with idiopathic. He then told me i have 2months to 1 year to live without any intervention.With the intervention i COULD extend my life 5 to 10 years. I had to wait for the ok from my insurance co to approve the procedure and the very expensive pump that delivers the medication. I underwent the surgery in April where they went into my Jugular vein into the upper part of my heart with a catheter that will remain for the rest of my life. The medication is very strong and can cause several side-effects, so they have to go very slow with how they increase it.It will take some time to get me to the level that they think i need, but i am doing ok. Each week i get higher in the number and although i have only seen a very small difference so far, they are sure i will see more the higher i go. It will be baby steps for a long time. I have to use a wheelchair to go anywhere right now cause i don't have the breathe to walk, and the medication is effecting my FMS real bad. My legs especially are effected but also my shoulders and back. I have been trying to be on here everyday and so far i have been able to be. I praise God for the wonderful Dr's i have and count the many blessings the Lord has given me daily.**** hello...My name is Barb. Our van needs work or we need a car that sits high up and has a trunk that is big enough for a wheelchair. We are on Social Security and can't afford this. We both have numerous health conditions. We take one day at a time.

Helping Members Week 03/06- 03/13 is Kyblue325 Week!
KYBLUE325's STORY
When I first started here a year ago, I came here to help my friend shellspyer get a car, so for the last year, I have turned all of my votes over to her. She got a car and i am so happy for her!!!. Since then however, I have come to need a reliable car myself. I have a son who lives almost 2 hours from me who has cancer, and they dont know how long he has, and my mother also lives there with Alzheimer Disease, and I barely ever get to see her because I am too afraid to go that far in my current car. I am not well myself, nor is my husband, we both live on disability. We are raising our grandson, as our own, as his father murdered my daughter, then killed himself. We had it ok till then, our house was paid off, but I had to borrow against our house to fight my daughters killers parents from raising my grandson.. I need some serious medical help, but where I live, there are no good Drs. and I cant make the trip to see a good one.. Thank you so much for reading my story and considering me as a friend.. I would appreciate your friendship and your vote very much!
